Ian Bisson BSc (Hons) Ost.
Registered Osteopath
Ian was born in Guernsey in 1979 and raised locally attending Castel Primary School and then Elizabeth College. On leaving college, he worked in the finance sector for a number of years to help fund his passion for travel which has taken him to all corners of the globe, normally with some kind of board strapped to his feet. Ian later worked outside the finance sector, working at Specsavers Optical Group as well as seeking a change outside the office.
Although he had an interest in manual therapy and exercise rehab at a much younger age, having sought treatment due to his active lifestyle and jobs, it wasn’t until he was travelling with a therapist who needed help with an injury that he decided to go back to study. Ian graduated with an Integrated Masters Degree in Osteopathy from the prestigious European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone, Kent in 2013.
Since graduating, he has worked at several multi-disciplinary clinics within the island, as well as spending some time working in Alberta, Canada at a multi-disciplinary clinic situated next to the great Canadian Rocky Mountains. Now, you can find him working out of the local GP group, Island Health, aswell as Bodysense Gsy here at the Tennis Centre.
Ian takes an holistic approach in the assessment and treatment of your musculoskeletal disorders/ injuries/ general aches & pains. He uses a range of techniques including joint and soft tissue mobilisations, medical dry needling, massage and some joint manipulation. He is also trained in Kinesio taping methods. He will most likely place a focus on getting you off the treatment couch at some stage, getting you moving and actively rehabbing with exercises and advice tailored to your specific needs.
Ian has an interest in treating anything spinal or joint related, sports injuries, postural related pain, general aches and pains and headaches. He will see anyone from children 5/6 yrs of age to the very mature senior.
